A bit of bull

Jane: Yesterday evening we explored Pamplona a little and found Plaza de Toros.  The attached photo explains the name of the square!

We sat at Ernest Hemingway´s favourite bar and caught the evening sun.  The world and his wife were out. Because it was mothers´day in Spain? Because it was Sunday? Because the Spanish do an Italian passagiatta? -- I have no idea, but everyone was very dressed up. Lots of little girls in long white, first holy communion type dresses and little boys in sailor suits.

Pamplona is a walled city and seems to be surrounded by mountains.

Got to go and pack that sack now.  Write when I can next find a computer.

  1. You know the origin of the bull festival - it was all those pilgrims clogging up the streets of Pamplona and the only way to clear them was to set the bulls free - so good job it was the day for little children to wear their best gear - don't want blood on those party dresses. It also had the by-product of increasing the average speed of pilgrims by 20 mph - oops 32 kph. So proud of you both - well done. And the Blog gets better and better... it'll be compulsive reading soon... LOVE to you both, Henry
